MUSHROOM SHAWARMA

Ingredients

  • Large mushrooms
  • Flat breads
  • 50 ml of olive oil/veggie oil

Spice mix

  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric
  • tsp ground cumin
  • tsp ground coriander
  • tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne
  • 1/2 ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp garlic granules
  • Iceberg lettuce leaves sliced
  • Small red onion thinly sliced
  • Pickled jalapeños
  • 100 ml of yogurt
  • 200g chestnut baby mushroom

Method

  1. Cast the spice mix into a bowl with 50 ml of olive oil and mix well. Throw in your mushrooms and toss till well coated.
  2. Slide them on a skewer, and grill till soft and golden. Anywhere between 5-10 minutes depending on your heat. Toast your flat breads.
  3. Now it’s time for the tasty build. Chuck in the lettuce, mushrooms, and jalapeños then drizzle with a bit of yogurt…. top with your fave hot sauce if you can handle it.
